Flooded with Coats

In order to help the flood victims, Dakota Ridge High School came together to donate clothes, hats, gloves, coats and other articles of clothing to give to students affected by the floods from this past September at  Milliken Middle School, and the surrounding community.  Over five hundred articles of clothing have been donated to these victims. Brandon Lovejoy, a junior at Dakota Ridge, had the idea to start this project.  In addition to Dakota helping out, many clubs such as our, Education Exploration Class, Interior Design, Christian Club, International Baccalaureate, as well our seminar committee, who spear headed the whole drive for Milliken Middle School, helped in order to make this possible.  Along with the clothes, Dakota students have made Valentine’s Day themed hearts with each Milliken student’s name written on the hearts to hang within the cafeteria at Milliken Middle School.
These donations and the hearts were packed and delivered on January 30th, 2014 to the middle school.  Thank you to everyone who donated, and to our school community, and also a very special thank you to Brandon Lovejoy for having a considerate heart for these affected families and students.
